Depending on their rarity, they can have different effects and overall deal more damage, which becomes important in later stages of the game, meaning it's important to consider how a weapon feeds into the character build or team that you're trying to create.

Below you'll find all the information about all the Genshin Impact weapons, whether they're crafted, quest-related, or a Wish drop. We'll keep this guide updated for version 2.1 and beyond!

Genshin Impact Weapons - Rarity, Stats, and Skills

Here's what you need to know about Genshin Impact weapon stats, rarity, skills, and more.

Rarity

Weapons present a rarity system that goes from one to five stars. The higher the rarity, the higher the weapon’s base stats scale, but rarer weapons also require more weapon EXP to level up.

Secondary Stat

Weapons with a rarity of three stars or more have a secondary stat, providing a bonus that scales with the weapon's level, just like its base attack. One of the following stats can be given, depending on the weapon:

  • Attack
  • Defence
  • HP
  • Critical Damage
  • Critical Rate
  • Elemental Mastery
  • Energy Recharge
  • Physical Damage Bonus

Passive Skill

Weapons with a rarity of three stars or more have a passive skill that can be either a simple bonus or a more complex ability. These abilities are usually more complex the higher the rarity of the weapon.

Genshin Impact Weapons Progression - Levelling, Refining, and Ascensions

Weapons can gain experience and increase their level in a similar fashion to characters or artifacts by consuming other weapons or weapon enhancement materials. They can also be ascended to their next phase once they reach their current max level up to six times. Weapon ascension requires weapon ascension materials, and the conditions for ascension are as follows.

Refining

You can increase any weapon's skill by refining, a process that requires a copy of the weapon that will be consumed to boost said skill, up to a maximum rank of five. Event-only weapons will require specific refining material that is only available during the event itself.

Genshin Impact Weapons List

There are currently five different types of weapons in Genshin Impact, and each character is only able to use one weapon type. Every weapon has its own pros and cons on the battlefield, and it’s recommended to mix them when making a team in order to open up different approaches and resources in combat.

All Genshin Impact Swords

Swords are the most balanced weapons in the game. Strong and fairly fast, you can't go wrong with any sword in Genshin Impact. Characters like Keqing, Bennett, and Xingqiu are sword users.

All Genshin Impact Claymores

While Claymores are slower than other weapons like swords or polearms, they certainly deal way more damage and can even break rocks of any type or any unlucky enemy's shield. Characters like Diluc, Eula, and Razor are claymore users.

All Genshin Impact Polearms

With great reach and the fastest attack speed, polearms are swift and fairly strong weapons. Characters like Rosaria, Zhongli, and Xiangling are polearm users.

All Genshin Impact Catalysts

Catalysts are purely elemental weapons, and their normal and charged shots will be infused with the user's Elemental Vision. Characters like Barbara, Ningguang, and Lisa are catalyst users.

All Genshin Impact Bows

With the fastest ranged attacks in the game, bows are the best way of being offensive while also keeping yourself far from the battle itself. Bows can also help you to snipe a specific enemy with element-imbued charged shots. Characters like Venti, Ganyu, and Diona are bow users.

All Genshin Impact Event-Only Weapons

Some events feature event-only weapons that cannot be obtained through any other methods. Usually, these weapons are tied to an Event Story Quest, and you need to progress through it to gather the ascension materials, but they can also be gifted to you as an in-game reward.
