Warframe Limbo Build Guide: How to Obtain, Craft, and Best Builds For Defense
The master of the Rift, Limbo, is one of the best defensive warframes on the roster. Released with the quest “The Limbo Theorem”, he can travel between planes, both for protecting his teammates and to pick enemies apart and later obliterate them.
His Prime version also displays better higher shield capacity, armor, energy capacity, as well as two additional polarities. However, right now Limbo Prime is unobtainable until the Vault brings him back, so you may need to roam around the Trade Chat in case you want him.
How to Craft Limbo?
Limbo's Main Blueprint can be purchased from the Market. Component blueprints are awarded from “The Limbo Theorem” quest, obtainable by completing the Europa Junction on Jupiter. An Archwing is required to begin the quest's missions.

Limbo Overview and Best Weapon Options
Since Limbo’s abilities involve the Rift Plane, it makes sense that he can achieve a defensive strategy by detaching himself from the material plane, to a place where he can’t be reached. Stasis is one of the best crowd control abilities in the entire game, and mixing it with Cataclysm can bring ridiculous results.
Abilities
Passive - Rift Plane
Limbo has access to the Rift Plane, an alternate dimension that can be accessed by performing a Roll, a Sidespring, or a Backspring, to slide in and out of it. Several of Limbo's abilities can force this plane upon Limbo himself, the environment, enemies, and even allies. Limbo can remain indefinitely in either dimension until he performs the triggering maneuvers again or travels freely between both planes via Cataclysm, which also affects Limbo's Companions.
When sliding into the Rift plane, Limbo leaves a portal for 5 seconds that allied players can use to enter the Rift for 15 seconds, after which they will return to the material plane. While Limbo and enemies are inside the Rift, each enemy killed grants him 10 Energy.
Banish
Casts a wave of Rift energy that damages hostiles while pushing enemies and allies out of Limbo’s current plane of existence.
Strength:150 / 200 / 225 / 250 Points of Impact damage
Duration:10 / 15 / 20 / 25 Seconds
Range: 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 Meters of wave distance
Misc:
5 Meters of cone initial radius
Spread angle: 15°
2 Energy regen per second
300 Points of Rift transitional Impact damage
Stasis
Freezes Rift-bound enemies. While active, enemy projectiles are arrested in mid-air, resuming their trajectory when stasis ends.
Duration: 8 / 10 / 12 / 15 Seconds
Misc:
Affected targets: ∞
Effect range: ∞
Gunfire objects limit: 300
Rift Surge
Surges nearby Rift-bound enemies with Rift energy. When killed the Rift Surge is transferred to a nearby enemy outside the rift. Surged enemies that leave the Rift perform a radial Banish.
Duration:
10 / 15 / 20 / 25 Seconds of surge duration
6 / 10 / 14 / 18 Seconds of banish duration
Range:
10 / 15 / 20 / 25 Meters of surge and transfer range
3 / 4 / 4 / 5 Meters of banish radius

Cataclysm
A violent blast of void energy tears open a pocket of Rift plane that can sustain itself for a short period before collapsing in a lethal blast.
Strength:200 / 300 / 400 / 500 Points of Blast damage
Duration:15 / 20 / 25 / 30 Seconds
Range:
10 / 12 / 14 / 16 Meters of initial radius
2 / 3 / 4 / 5 Meters of final radius
2 Energy regeneration per second
100 % Formation and collapse stagger chance
300 Points of Rift Impact damage
5 % Collapse damage bonus
25-100 % Damage bonus radius scaling
Recommended Weapons
Since Limbo is a defensive warframe we need weapons that hit hard and fast to compensate for that. There’s also the fact that the build displayed below will freeze a LOT of enemies outside your Rift bubble but won’t kill them, so you will need to act fast on that if you want to keep defending that point. Ignis, Pandero, and Guan Dao will serve that role, and if you can afford their Prime or Wraith versions, the better.
Primary Weapon - Ignis
Secondary Weapon - Pandero
Melee Weapon - Guan Dao

This build is especially useful in defensive missions such as Defense or Mobile Defense, it’s pretty simple to grasp and certainly effective at the moment of standing your ground in a specific point. The idea is to cast Stasis and Cataclysm and maintain both active at all times. Doing this will create a Rift bubble that will freeze the enemies right outside it, thus creating a safe haven for you to exploit. To achieve this you need to invest in as much Duration as possible to maintain these abilities for a longer time, and Range for the Rift bubble to be as big as possible. Efficiency will also help you so your abilities don’t drain too much energy, with Natural Talent being crucial so you can cast them as soon as possible.
