Apex Legends Best Landing Spots for Season 13
Deciding on the best Apex Legends landing spots really depends on the type of player you are, but we're given the lot a fair shake to come up with, what we believe to be, the best options for the average player looking to make it into the final moments of a match.
Believing in the best Apex Legends landing spots means understanding what they can offer. The dropship doesn't take a same patch twice, meaning no area of the map is ever certain to be the target of every hot-headed player. Choosing the best landing spot means striking a balance between loot, safety, and proximity to the next circle. And it can get complicated.
For more on Apex Legends, we've updated our Apex Legends tier list and Apex Legends gun tier list for Season 13. And with another new character out to boot, read up on how Reddit decided just how strong Newcastle is and why the community is so enamoured by his animations of all things.
The Best Apex Legends Landing Spots for Season 13
All Maps
Any Blue Ring
When you are waiting in the dropship to launch onto the map with your squad, you should check your map. When the initial timer ends, a blue ring should appear somewhere on the map.
This is a fantastic spot to land if you can make it there first. This ring indicates where there is a concentrated collection of extremely high-tier and rare loot.
In a similar fashion to care packages, grabbing loot first in these zones can give you a very high chance of becoming the champion - if you can survive the onslaught of every other squad who decides they're more deserving of the best loot.
Either come prepared for a fight, or fly in with a fool-proof escape plan. Then again, you won't lose much time if you take the L here. Your reputation, though? It won't take too many of these hotdrops.
Olympus
Here are our top two landing spots on Olympus currently. We will be sure to update this information as Season 13 continues to evolve.
Icarus
Icarus is the crashed spacecraft on the edge of the Olympus Map. The ship itself is the definition of high-risk, high-reward. However, that's what makes it one of the best landing spots on Olympus for this season.
The location of the ship seems to mean that you can get a few rounds in where no one else drops there. This means that all of the sweet loot hidden inside can be yours for the taking.
There are several sections within Icarus. The main ship body, the cockpit area, and the cargo area. All three areas typically have mid to high-tier loot within them and plenty of loot bins for you to open.
Also, if you're not the only squad to land there, your survival chances are still quite high. When you compare the Icarus to other sections of Olympus, it's one of the largest. There are plenty of areas for you to hide from enemies and counter their attacks with a surprise ambush.
Alternatively, there are a few places on the ship that allow you to make a quick exit without being spotted. Overall, the Icarus is a great Battle Royale playground.
Hammond Labs
Surprisingly, Hammond Labs is still one of the best drop zones on Olympus. There is always a lot of loot inside the Labs themselves and plenty of high-tier stuff to sustain a team of three.
The layout and location of the Lab is how it has earned its place on this list. The Lab is almost in the middle of the Olympus Map. It may seem reckless to drop in the centre of the map as it seems to be an obvious choice, but not many teams do. It's a great place to drop because you can easily make your way to the ring for the second round no matter where it is.
The layout of Hammond Labs forces you to confront your enemies. The circular formation of the outer hallway and the small room at the centre of it gives you very little room to hide. If you're a confident squad (who has already taken all the high-tier loot), it can be a great way of getting easy kills. That being said, you still need to watch your back.
Storm Point
Storm Point sticks the landing from Season 12 to Season 13, but the "worst map" has been tweaked slightly to spice things up a bit.
Dubbed a "monstrous" update by EA, the Downed Beast has been added as an "organic combat zone." On top of the IMC Armories now dotted at four locations around the map that are defended by waves of Specters, you'll find a bunch of reasons to switch up your typically landing zone.
Still, if you're looking for stability, the best Storm Point landing zones are below.
Barometer
Barometer is a great place to land for those of you who like high-tier loot and epic weaponry. The safest time to drop into this area is when the flight path of the dropship is nowhere near it.
If the dropship flies directly over Barometer, there's a good chance that everyone will drop there and it will be chaos. That being said, chaos is can create great opportunities.
Within Barometer, there are several places to hide, and even more places to loot. If you want the best loot, then stick to the outer edges/buildings of the area. It may be tempting to run to moving platforms in the center of this area, but the best loot is hidden away.
Cenote Cave
Cenote Cave is a hidden treasure trove for looting and shooting. There are small buildings and huts hidden in the large cave itself.
Within these buildings, there are typically two floors where blue and purple tier loot spawns. If you can't get into a building, then there is no reason to panic. There are also loot bins scattered within the cave. Also, if you enjoy climbing and sniping, there are several vantage points in the cave that you can make use of.
Alongside the loot, the cave is a great place to land because there are several easy escape routes.
If you've played Apex, you're probably aware that plans can go wrong when it comes to landing. Therefore, if you land in the cave and other people have had the same idea, there are plenty of places to make a quick exit without being shot.
World's Edge
Staging
Staging may not look like the best option a lot of the time, but it's a purely strategic choice that leaves plenty of options on the table for later in the match. It's situated in a spot where you're free to branch out to one of many different spots depending on where you think the original dropship path will cause players to flock to. By plotting a course with both that and the circle in mind, Staging should decently prepare you for whichever move you need to make. It's a high-tier loot location, so you should find plenty of options here.
Big Maude
Added in Season 10, Big Maude is still a terrific place to drop. It's often highly populated if that's your thing, but with good reason: boosted guns. These stronger-than-average equips will get you far if you're able to peel them off the bodies of those who manage to drop before you. You'll want the ship to get close to this one, but if you notice you're going over it, it's well worth trying.
Lava Siphon
A fairly unpopular choice these days, Lava Siphon is a good option for those who'd rather not face fierce competition at the start of the match.
It's a balanced play all things considered: limited players, decent gun choices, and situated reliably along almost and drop path. If you're not too confident in your early-game, Lava Siphon should give you time to come into your own.
And that's all we have on the best drop locations for Apex Legends Season 13 right now. As we wait for any map changes to worm their way into the recommendations, check out our weapons tier list to find out which ones are the best for the current season.
